In collaboration with educators, students, families, local communities, business, labor, and government, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction leads, supports, and oversees K-12 education, ensuring the success of all learners.
The Program Supervisor for HIV and Sexual Health Education provides technical assistance and support to schools by promoting best practices in HIV/AIDS prevention and sexual health education. Resources are available to assist schools in curriculum selection and implementation, compliance with state policies for HIV/AIDS prevention and sexual health education, and building programs that address sexual risk behaviors among adolescents. This work is done under the umbrella of the Coordinated School Health program, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
OSPI provides training for teachers, administrators, and curriculum directors on implementation of effective sexual health education.

CRG
CHT Resource Group (CRG) also provides training through their Promoting Science-Based Approaches
project. The primary goal of this project is to increase the number of science-based approaches (SBA) for preventing teen pregnancy and STD/HIV being implemented in Washington State. CRG works intensively with local agencies, including schools, health departments, youth-serving Community Based Organizations (CBOs), and health clinics, providing technical assistance and training to build their capacity for implementing SBA. Their secondary goal for the SBA project is to increase statewide support for and knowledge about SBA among policy and decision makers.
PLANNED PARENTHOOD
Regional Planned Parenthood organizations have an Education and Training Department, which provide education on all sexual health topics in a wide variety of community settings. Planned Parenthood’s goal is to "Provide educational services to foster understanding of human sexuality and promote responsible behavior." The organization believes that providing accurate information about sexual development, healthy relationships, methods of birth control, and the understanding of how to access reproductive health care supports responsible decision-making around sexuality.”

PUBLIC HEALTH SEATTLE & KING COUNTY FAMILY PLANNING HEALTH EDUCATORS
Public Health Seattle & King County's Family Planning health educators offer expertise in sexuality education and training. The Family Planning Health Education Team (FPHET) can be a valuable resource to local community agencies and school districts within King County.
FPHET provides the following services: technical assistance and training for teachers and community-based service providers on topics ranging from: teaching and talking about sexuality; family planning and birth control; unintended pregnancy; adolescent development; and making effective referrals; curriculum review and development; seasoned leadership in community groups and coalitions that focus on youth asset building and decreasing risk-taking behavior; and effective collaboration and partnerships with local agencies.
The FPHET has also developed: Family Life and Sexual Health (F.L.A.S.H.), a widely used comprehensive sexuality education curriculum, developed by Public HealthÕs Family Planning Program. Answer, part of the Center for Applied Psychology at Rutgers University, is a national organization dedicated to providing and promoting comprehensive sexuality education in the United States. This organization is committed to supplying resources, advocacy, training and solutions in support of honest and balanced sexuality education for young people and the adults in their lives. Answer runs the Sex Etc. which is written by teens for teens, where youth can ask questions and answer are monitored by professional adults.
